Leader is a person who leads a group of people especially the head of an organization, industry, country even a head of a house. Dictionary meaning.

A leader is a person who get things done by enlisting the efforts of other people securing their support and enssuring their cooperation and confidence to ensure the organization goals are archieved.
A leader is a member of a group of people who has the ability to influence the behaviour of other group members and consequently making them do what are necessary for archieving the organization goals.
Having known what a leader is, a good functioning leader must be able to pocess the following qualities of a good leaders since they a unique and very sensitive post in the society.

A good leader must be an enthusiasm in his or her position. This is what will ensure compliment and make a leader to be dedicated to cooperate and affairmate his failure
A leader must be corruption free. There must not be a curroption act in the leader's behavior. Fellow and subordinates will follow the lead of the leader. In a sentence: if a leader is bad, the subordinates too become bad and vice versal
Moreso, a leader should be Competence and capable of the position held in the organization. Competence and capability is also a main quality a leader must pocess.
Even a leader must serve as a teacher and motivator to the team and his subordinates. Teach them what they don't know, what they wish to know, motivat them with anything possible (tangible or intangible) to make they feel as an important in the organisation
Accessible - all leader must build a channel for the subordinates to reach them easily. There must be a good rapol between the captains of industry (COI) and subordinates. Onlike some 9jerian leader bring themselves down to the citizens, once they get to post they breach all channels to get to them and become inaccesible.
A leader must be fast in decision making on any issues.
A good leader should be approachable by the subordinates. This will open door for good leadership - fellowship relationship. A leader who is not approachable will have the chain of communication only comming downward which will inturn affect productivity.
